Call, for thirteen years chief engineer of the local fire department, was re-elected Inst night after as strenuous an afternoon and evening as the local or any other fire district in the county has ever known. Call's opponent was Captain Walter Smith, a well-known South Bay skipper, and it took 47S votes to decide the question. Call winning by a majority of 45. Owing to the singular construction of the charter of the Are distriot, every elector voted for chief engineer if he so desired, and yesterday afternoon and evening about everyone who thought himself anybody felt so inclined. Many members of the summer colony who are voters hero, were among the throng at the polling place.
