About twelve hundred mothers attended the eleventh annual convention of ihe Kindergarten Mothers Clubs ot Brooklyn yesterday afternoon in the i auditorium of the Training School for Teachers. Jllss Fannlcbelle Curtia, founder of the association, presided at the meeting, which opened with an organ prelude by George II. (Jarilan. He played "Hansel and Gretel," by Humper-dinck. Dr.

Ira S. Wile made the address of welcome. He said among other things that it was a hopeful sign to see so many parents gathered together taking an Interest in the welfare of tbclr children, 'l oo many parents are too apt io leave the upbringing of the child to the kindergarten and public school teachers. If the Interest begins Willi the mothers of the kindergarten children, It Is certain to continue throughout the higher grades. Dr.

Kdward W. Stilt, dlBtriet superintendent of schools, also spoke, taking i for his subject. "1'lay a Necessity for I Old and Young." I in conclusion. Dr. SUtt said, "Back up the work of ihe teachers, mothers.

Stand side by side with the teachers from the kindergarten up, and a better generation will be the result, wilh' healthier, happier children in It."
