Riley of the Clifton Hotel. The dog answers to the name of Doppy and has been brought to Patchogue for the purpose of protecting small children bathers'. The animal was brought from France and is of the St. Bernard breed. Doppy has a long record for hauling youngsters from centre Moriches visitors.

July 17 One of the gay events of the season to date was the barn dance given by Mrs. Hastings last Saturday evening, when her home and grounds, bordering Senix Creek, were opened for the season.
