Protests Rise as Mosley Remains in Secret Hideout London, Nov 22 (U.P)-Sir Oswald Mosley, leader of the outlawed British Union of Fascists, and his wife were in hiding today as Liberal elements and labor organizations joined the mounting protests against the couple's release Saturday from Holloway prison. Events indicated there will be bitter debate when Herbert Morrison, Minister of Home Security, appears in Parliament to defend the Government's action. Only a few officials and relatives knew of the whereabouts of the Mosleys, who were arrested in 1940 under terms of the 1939 Security Act. But London's streets were filled with people with petitions demanding reinternment. Nazi Air Defenses Reported Weakening London, Nov.

22 -The United States and Royal Air forces have tamed, at least temporarily, Germany's air defenses, British Air observers said today. Germany's plight in the air war can be compared roughly with that of her U-boat fleet in the Atlantic, they said. Both American and British pilots have reported weakened opposition on their flights over Germany in the past few weeks, possible evidence the Reich was suffering a shortage of fighter aircraft or hoarding all available strength to oppose the eventual opening of a second front. 4,000 Cheer Polish Independence Claims Assertions of Poland's right to independence and the territorial boundaries laid down in the Versailles Treaty were loudly cheered last night by 4,000 Polish -Americans at Manhattan Center, 311 W. 34th Manhattan.
