130-aw dal LEGAL NOTICES. ALL CORRUPT, SAYS MRS. EVANS Freeport Woman Pays Her Respects to Village Officials, and Leaves the Meeting. (Special to The Eagle.) Freeport. L.

December 3-Dr. T. Horace Evans and his wife again peared before the village trustees at their meeting last night, and by Leans of written note placed in the hands of Village Clerk Shea asked what had been done in the matter of their other communication, accusing one of the trustees of insulting Mrs. Evans. It was moved and passed by the board that the communication be returned to Mrs.

Evans as not within the province of the village board. Dr. Evans protested and was joined by his wife. Hot words followed, and Village President John D. Gunning stated that if order was not restored he would have the village office cleared.

Officer Dunbar, who was present, arose from his seat and opened the office door leading out into the hallway. Mrs. Evans saw his action and said. "Yes, clear it of me, but I'll clear it of you. You are all of a clique, and you are all corrupt." Both Dr.

and Mrs. Evans hurriedly put on their wraps and hastened unceremoniously from the room. DE LAIT SENTENCED MONDAY. Woman in the Kubie Burglary Case Pleads Not Guilty--Companion Backs Her Up. Speedy justice is to be meted out to Jacques De Lait and Idelia De Neulemeester, the man and woman who were arrested in Philadelphia about a week ago and who were brought to Queens County yesterday to answer to indictments charging grand larceny found by the Queens Grand Jury for the alleged theft of jewelry valued at $2,765 from the home of Samuel Kubie, on Wave Crest avenue, Far Rockaway, last summer.

The man is tall, blonde and well set up, and exactly the style of a fellow who would be in demand for the position of butler. The woman is a decided brunette, bright, and apparently very intelligent. When arraigned, De Lait told Judge Humphrey that he did the stealing, but that his wife was innocent. "She even did not know I stole the things," he told the court. The woman pleaded not guilty.

De Lait was remanded for sentence, which will be meted out to him on Monday. The woman will probably be brought to trial before the end of next week. ATTEMPTED BURGLARY. Mr. Hutton Sends Communication to Freeport Village Board Telling of Attempt to Enter His Home.

(Special to The Eagle.) Freeport, L. December 3-Another attempted robbery was reported to the village police of this place at the meeting of the trustees last night by a communication signed by Albert Hutton of 9 Florence place. In the letter he said that a few nights ago an attempt to rob his home was made by boring a gimlet hole through a wincow sash for the purpose of unfastening the bolt. The attempt was unsuccessful, as the window was held shut by a brass rod passing through both the upper and lower sash. No other windows were tried.

and Mrs. Hutton thinks that the would-be burglars were frightened away. FLED IN NIGHT CLOTHES. Maspeth People Driven Out of Bed by Flames. Two fires.

The Class of 1912 of Barnard College yesterday afternoon presented as its junior show, "Trelawney of the Wells." Very fortunately, Ethel Barrymore is going to play it again during December, and the whole cast is making elaborate preparations to attend in a body, presumably to make comparisons. Judged by the enthusiasm aroused to-day, these comparisons will be hard on Miss Barrymore. The show brought out all 1912's former stars and several new ones. Miss Mildred Hamburger and Miss Constance Von Wahl did some excellent work as Rose Trelawney, and Tom Mench, while the hero, Eleanor Doty, caused many heart flutterings, presumably among freshmen, who are supposed to be more susceptible than the common run of mortals. Brooklyn was represented on the cast by three juniors.

Miss Jennie McKay, as Augustus Coipoys, a low comedian, seemed perfectly at ease in her gaudy attire and fuzzy wig. With the able assistance of Anne Wilson as Avonia Bunn, a women who marries because "two can live as cheap as she created much of the humor of the play. Elinor Franklin and Florence Van Vranken, both of Brooklyn, appeared as Captain and Mrs. de Foenix. are to be two more performances of the play, this afternoon and evening.

Mrs. W. P. Jessup of Brooklyn, who has acted as the coach of Berkeley Institute plays, is coaching and staging the play. Hicanor Franklin is on the committee, and Florence Van Vranken is property mistress.
