Ever since that time had been working industriously to make the barn dance even more of a success than their previJus efforts. The decorations seemed to nave been the most Important part of the programme. There was more hay and straw clustered about the walls, stage, corridors and on the walls than could be found in an ordinary stable. Old wagons, carriages, rakes and every kind of farm implement had been gathered together in countless numbers and placed slipshod about the hall. The maidens and their escorts, all in sunbonnets and straw sombreros, began to arrive shortly after 8 o'clock and kept on coming till it seemed as though the hall would not hold them all.

They made merry until long after their ordinary bedtime and then went home feeling the affair was the greatest social success held in their town in ever 80 long. The maidens in charge of the affair were: Katheryn Murphy, president: Adeline. Tice, vice president; Margaret Murphy, secretary; Helen Grady, treasurer; Sue A. Mac Veagh, Charlotte O'Neill, Sadie Maher, Mildred O'Nell, committee of rangementa: Gertrude O'Nell, Florence McDonald, Josephine Maher and Mayzie Murphy, entertainment committee. The ending Lent this year coincides with the beginning of April, the gayest and most distinguished month in Atlantic City's famous Spring season.

During this month more emivisitors and "nice people" are to be found in the great hotels than in any other month of the year, and the absence of the Easter Sunday enables guests to completely enjoy all the attractions of climate and artifcial entertainment of this festive season with entire satisfaction. The hotel claims distinction for its location, its ample public space devoted to its guests, its high class music every night throughout the year, but particularly attractive with solo singers at the week-ends during the Spring season, and its ownership management. All the four dining rooms (two American plan, with the excellent cooking heretofore so popular, and two a la carte, with separate kitchens and French cooks) have white service throughout and in one of the American rooms called the "American Palm Room' and in the a la carte rooms smoking is permitted. There are particularly attractive ocean end guites. with large rooms, 24 by 20 feet; and a private bath (supplied with both sea water and fresh water and with running ice water) is with every alternate room in the Marlborough and with every room in the Blenheim, which in construction is reputed to be the most completely fireproof hotel in the world.
