Garden City Clubs The program of the Long Island Choral Society, which will open its season tomorrow, will include an operatic concert to be given early In December. The dinner, held at the Garden City Hotel, was under the direction of Miss Frances Mantel as chairman of arrangements with Mlss Evelyn Straus as guest speaker. The Colonel Aaron Ogden Chapter, D. A. met Tuesday at the home of Mrs. John H.

Frederick Uhl of Canterbury Road, Great Neck Estates, was hostess this week to the members of the Great Neck Needlework Guild. Plans were made for the annual Fall gathering, which will be held on Oct. 26 at the parish of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Mrs.

Nathaniel Schlamn has been elected president of the Women's Auxiliary of St. Aloysius Church of Great Neck. The members of the home economics department of the Great Neck Women's Club will sponsor a dessert bridge Oct. 5 at the home of Mrs. Joseph Wells of Vista Drive.

Stanley Allen of Woodmere, president, Inaugurated its Fall season this week with a turkey supper and get-together at the Beihpage State Park clubhouse, Farmingdale. Mrs. Allen after welcoming the guests, outlined the year's program. The initial program will take the form of a lecture on current books at the Queensboro Public Library at Far Rockaway. Other programs will Include lectures on various crafts; "Newspapers by a representative of the New York Times; "Famous Gardens of America" illustrated with 60 slides.

The Sharps and Flat Club of the Rockaways will present a musical evening under the direction of Lester Stafford Hibbard. The club also plans to attend the ice carnival, horse show, give a luncheon and bridge at Wanamaker's, visit the Cloisters and pass a day at the World's Fair, as well as go on several garden rides. Mrs. Robert Mayberry Is chairman of the scholarship bridge which the club will sponsor on Wednesday night, Oct. 19, in the auditorium of the Cocoa Cola Bottling Works at Rockville Centre.

The club has been putting two girls through college for many years now by contributing $150 a year for four years toward their expenses, Dinner-Meeting The SoroptimLst Club of Brooklyn held a dinner meeting on Thursday evening at the Central Y. W. C. A. It was voted to hold the meetings for the remainder of the year at the Y.
