The Neighbor- Many complaints have been made recently about i lie trolley service rendered by the New York and Quee ns County Hallwuy Company, which operates all cars starting from the Manhattan end of the Queensboro ISrldge und from the Long Island City aide of the Thirty-fourth street ferry to Astoria.

Stelnway, Corona. Flushing, College Point, Calvary Cemetery, Vernon avenue and the shuttle car operated from the ferry to the Bridge Plaza In Long Island City. Check was made recently of the number of oars actually operated during stated Intervals. The results of this check as compared with table of headways issued by the trolley company Indicates that the number of oars run over these lines la considerably less than this table rails for. The cars on the Vernon avenue line were timed cm January -7 nt the Junction of Borden and Vernon avenues.

Supposed, to be operated under a headway of ten minutes, which provides six curs in an hour, live cars were sent through in an hour and two minutes. The first car passed at 11 17 a.m. and the fifth at 12:19 p.m., the headways being, 18, 18, 14 and 17 minutes, or an average headway of 16 minutes. On February 23 a check showed only four cars In the hour, running under an average headway of 15 minutes. At the time the check ended no car had appeared for 16 minutes.

Residents of Astoria will make a complaint to the Public Sorvlce Commission soon. If more cars are not put on tho line, residents of that section will check up the cars and make a report on the conditions found. A check on this line on January 26 and two days later showed that the re-uuired number of cars, six to the hour, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., were operated past the Plaza In Long Island Citv.
