August 12 The annual carnival and Flag Day celebration held on August 8 at Kenoza Lake totally eclipsed anything of its kind ever held before. Early morning visitors witnessed every house within a radius of three miles decorated with flags and bunting, and this display was only surpassed by the brilliant illumination of the lake and the surrounding country at night. Every boat on the lake was adorned with Japanese lanterns and colored lights of all kinds Fully 20,000 people attended tho carnival and both Delnps Hotel and tho Fern Hotel were taxed. Manv visitors were entertained on the beautiful floats which were temporarily constructed upon tho lawn. Dancing was enjoyed at Delap's Hotel and also at the Fern Hotel.

The Calli-coon Centro Band played for the occasion. The committee in charge of tho event were: George Delap, Richard Schoof, George liaiun, Peter Thlcs and Thomas Mahlman Sr. guest of friends at the Thousand Islands. Mr. and Mrs.

At any rate, thcRo happy vacationists at the Water Gap would claim him to be a member of the Ananias Club. Away from the torrid weather of tho cities, the arrivals here are en-Joying the cool and balmy breezes from the Delaware River and Mount Tammany.

Never has the Water Gap been so filled with people as it is at the present time. The bathing and fishing are unsurpassed and hundreds find the beach a delightful place to cool off, after a tennis game or some other outdoor Bnort. The New Klttatlnny is but a few minutes walk from tho bathing beach and boat landing, and is very popu liir with lovers of water SDorts. It is also on the main thoroughfare through the Gap, and on the direct line to the Poconos, and IB therefore a mecca for motorists wno nave Deen enjoying its splendid hospitality during the summer, under the pro-nrletnrshln and manairement of Purdy Cope. Brooklyn Girls Hunt Bear at Weirs, N. H. Weirs, N. August 12 The first wild bear seen in this region for twenty years was sighted by Roxy Merrill, a young hunter, living on Ballard Hill, three miles north of this resort.
