Fairchild, President John J. McGuire, 'Pioneer' With N. Y. Telephone Company John J. McGuire, employe" of the New York Telephone Company, who worked in its first New York office on Gold more than 50 years ago, died Friday at his home, 653 61st St.

Mr. McGuire, a native of Manhattan. retired in 1947. after 49 years of service with the company as an installation expert. For the past four years he had remained active in the Telephone Employes Organization, which he had served for ten years as secretary-treasurer.

He was the father of the late Rev. John J. McGuire of St. Joseph's R. C.

Church, Garden City, and of the late Lt. William C. McGuire, U. S. A.

F. Surviving are the widow. Mrs. Agnes Kinsella McGuire; two sons, James and Gerard; three daughters, Mrs. Catherine Libby, Mrs.

D. Springsteen, Widow of Mason Bank Officer, 59 Mrs. Fannie A. Von Eiff, formerly of 1215 53d died Thursday at Miami Beach. where she had lived for nearly two years.

She was the widow of Frank C. Von Eiff. prominent Brooklyn Mason and former secretary of the Sterling Photo-Engraving Company. Mrs. Von Eiff was born in Manhattan and had spent the greater part of her life in Brooklyn, where she was active in St.

John's Episcopal Church, Fort Hamilton Parkway and 99th St. Her husband, who was past monarch and a trustee of LongI Grotto, died in .1950. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow in St. John's Church.

The Rev. George H. MacMurray, rector of St. Philip's Church, will officiate in the absence of the Rev. Theodore H.

Springsteen, vice president and trustee of the Queens County Savings Bank, Flushing, died yesterday in Manhas. set Medical Center. He was 59 and lived at 279 Ryder Road. Long prominent in religious work, Mr. Springsteen was president of the board of direction of the Reformed Church in America and also was head of the Reformed Church Board Missions.

He was an elder of the First Reformed Church of Newtown and was former superintendent of its Sunday school. Mr. Springsteen, a native of Newtown, was vice president and a trustee of the Holland Society of New York City and a member of St. Nicholas Society of Nassau Island. He was a member also of Forest Hills Lodge, F.
