Pink and blue and white effectively carried out in gowns and decorations WAS the color scheme oil Wednesday evening at the wedding of Miss Louise Helen Brown and Oscar Bertram took place at the South Church, the Medormied Rev. Dr. William MacDonald officiating.

The bride wore charmeuse trimmed with lace and pearls her veil was cap effect, caught up with orange blossoms. She was given away by her brother, Frederic Halstead Brown. A sister of the bride, Mrs. Anna C. Power, Manhattan, matron of honor.

She wore blue charmeuse with crystal trimmings, and carried pink roses. The bridesmaids were Miss Lillian Hincheliff and Miss Emma Sussman, who wore pink crepe de meteor. The little flower girl was Florence Moran. Arne Fisher was best man and the ushers were Edward Alton Brown and John J. Morau.

Following the ceremony there was it reception at the home of the, bridegroom, Fort Hamilton avenue and Sixty-Afth street. The bridegroom's gift to his bride was a brooch set with pearls and diamonds, and among the other gifts received was a house, given to the young couple by the bridegroom's parents. and Mrs. Jacob Suyder and Andrew John Parker of Manhattan. at the home of the bride's parents, 322 Hart street. The parlors were decorated with palms, and to the strains of Lohengrin's "Wedding March," the bride entered on the arm of her uncle. George L.

Weber, preceded by her sister, Miss Carolyn Louise Snyder, as maid of honor. The bridemiah H. Parker, as best man. groom was attended by his brother, JereThe bride wore a gown of white charmeuse and a tulle veil made cap effect and carried a shower bouquet of roses and lilies of the valley. The maid of honor wore a gown of flowered chiffon over pale blue messaline, and carried a bouquet of pale pink chrysanthemums.

The Rev. L. O. Rotenbach of Bethany Presbyterian Church performed the ceremony. The ceremony followed by a reception.

Miss Elsie Greiner sang Promise Me" and "Silver Threads Among the Gold." The bride and bridegroom left for a trip through the Thousand Islands and Niagara Falls, and on their return, will live live at 377. Putnam avenue, where they will be at home to their many friends after December 1. Miss Margaret Nelson Weds Charles Meurlin. On Wednesday afternoon last at the home of the bride's aunt. Miss Margaret May Nelson, daughter of William H.

The bride. in white chiffon cloth with a border of roses over white satin, had Miss Hazel Whitton for her maid or honor. She wore tan chifton cloth over American beauty satin and carried American beauties.

Herman Stelljes was best man. Louis Canfield of 132 Fort Greene place, was married to Howard Allen Warner of Northampton, on October 17. The Rev. John F. Carson performed the ceremony which was a quiet one with no attendants.

Miss Elsie Johnson Is Now Mrs. Arthur Maddren. pretty home wedding took place Monday evening at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Johnson, 457 East Twenty-ninth street, when Miss Elsie Johnson, their eldest daughter, became the bride of Arthur Scott Maddren, son of Mr.

and Mrs. Richard S. Maddren of St. James place. Dr.

Daniel Dorchester of St. Mark's M. E. Church, officiated. The home was prettily decorated with autumn foliage and white chrysanthemums.

The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a gown of white satin charmeuse, with a veil 08 tulle, and orange blossoms. Her bouquet consisted of bride roses and lilles-of-thevalley. She was attended by her sister, Miss Gertrude Johnson, who wore pale blue charmeuse and carried a shower bouquet of pink rosebuds. Mr. and Mrs.

Maddren have gone South for about a month. They will be at home after December 1. at 33 Stephen's Court. Flatbush. Mrs.

Alice Townsend Polsley announces the marriage of her daughter. Gwendolyn to James Rowland Ross, on Monday evening last. Miss May Winters Weds William Davis. A pretty home wedding took place last Sunday evening, when Miss May Isabel Winters, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs.

Albert B. Winters of 103. Monitor street, was married to William James Davis, by the Rev. L. Brigham of All Souls Universalist Church, Flatbush.

The wedding march was played by Misg Agnes Blinkhorn. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore white ivory satin charmeuse, trimmed with duchess lace. tulle veil was draped cap effect and caught with 8. spray of orange blossoms. She carried a shower bouquet of roses and lilies-of-the-valley.

The bride's only attendant was Misa Martha Seeba, who wore pink crepe meteor and carried an arm bouquet of pink chrysanthemums and autumn leaves. Charles Davis, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. The parlors were prettily decorated with yellow and white chrysanthemums and autumn leaves. A reception for fifty relatives and friends followed the ceremony, and after that Mr. and Mrs.

Following the ceremony there will be a breakfast at a restaurant on Fulton street, the color scheme for this being light blue and gold. These are the colors of the Girls High School, of which the bride is a graduate. Both bridge and bridegroom have been teaching school for the past few years. A few weeks ago Miss Elliott and Miss Storin gave Miss Sheeran a kitchen (shower and the same color scheme was carried out for this. A number of relatives and friends attended the wedding of Miss Harriet Gellert.

The bride wore a white duchess satin dress draped with princess lace and carried shower bouquet of bride rose and lilies of the valley. Her only attendant, Miss Helen Hess of West Pittston, as maid of honor, wore pink satin draped with figured marquisette, and carried an arm bouquet of pink chrysanthemums tied with satin and tulle ribbons. The bridegroom, who is a son of Dr. H. L.

Carr of Bayville, L. formerly of 856 Lafayette avenue, Brooklyn, was attended by his brother, Edward R. Carr, as best man. The ceremony was performed by Dr. Tullar of the Sixth Avenue M.

E. Church. The house was decorated with leaves, palms and pink chrysanthemums, pink being the color scheme throughout. Melville Collins, who played the wedding march, gave several instrumental selections during the evenirg. The young couple are now on an extended trip to Bermuda, and on their return they will live at 392 First street.

Her veil was of real lace. and she carried a shower of roses and lilies of the valley. The maid of honor wore pink messaline trimmed with shadow lace, and she carried pink carnations. The little ribbon girl wore pink voile and the flower girl wore embroidered white over pink. She carried a basket Alled with cosmos.

DANCES The summer guests of Yuian, Sullivan County, N. expect to meet once more at a reunion and ball to be held tomorrow at Teutonia Assembly Rooms, 144 East Sixteenth street, Manhattan.

The Unity Social Club of Bay Ridge will hold its first annual dance at Exempt Firemen's Hall, Bay Ridge and Third avenues, on Friday evening, November 8. The Halloween dance given under the auspices of the young men of St. Catherine of Genoa's Church, Albany and Linden avenues, Rugby, on Wednesday evening, was a success both socially and financially. The hall was decorated with yellow and black, the white walls Were covered with large black cats, witches, bats and everything else necessary to add to the weird effect euitable for the dance. At 11 o'clock the ghosts began their walk and after three loud knocks on the wall the lights were extinguished.

all but three, which were covered with paper pumpkin heads, and the ghosts entered the hall. After several minutes walk around the room the ghosts then distributed white ghost caps to the men and yellow paper pumpkin heads tied with yellow ribbon. to be worn on the wrist. to the women, and then all joined in the dance with the ghosts. Earle MacConnell Host of Halloween Dance.

One of the very enjoyable affairs given Thursday evening was the birthday Halloween given in honor of Earle K. MacConneli at his home, 367 Carlton avenue. The parlors and hails were prettily decorated with Japanese lanterns, umbrellas, American flags and crepe festoons forming bower under which the young folks danced. Supper was served midnight, after which late hour. host received many games and dancing, continued until a handsome presents.

Children of Mary Sodality Have Halloween Dance. The Halloween dance given by the members of the Children of Mary Sodality of the Church of the Nativity, Madison street. on Wednesday evening, was a success from every point of view. The affair was held in the new school hall. which was attractively decorated for the cecasion with flags and autumn leaves.

The dance was 80 well attended that many expressed the wish that it will be made a monthly affair. A feature of the dance was the appearance of Miss Marie Ryan, dressed as a witch. During one si the dances she entered the hail when the lights were extinguished, scattered the dancers and took her place behind one of the booths. There were some very pretty prizes.
