(By, delphia Cable to Pablo The Ledger: Brooklyn Copyright, Eagle and 1921.1 Phile Peking, Feb. 16- The American Minister has communicated to the Chinese Government a message received from the State Department at Washington regarding the British objection to the American Federal Company's concession for wireless construction. The message requests the Chinese Government not to take action alter, ing the status quo, pending negotidtions between Washington and London with a view to an amicable settlement.

Washington apparently fears that China might, under pressure from the British and Japanese legations, cancel the contract. The message states that Washington upholds the principle of equal opportunity for American enterprise with that of other nationalities in China, but containa no such strong phase as that Washington backs the American concessionnaires, as was reported. Chinese officials, state there is no danger of a cancellation of the contract. The matter now rests between London and Washington. Japan is an Anxious onlooker, and should the Americans gain their point will take the initiative and endeavor to prevent operation of the contract on the ground that it infringes the Mitsui monopoly.
