Thirkield Is Wed Miss Pamela Thirkield, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Haven Thirkield of 20 Prospect Park West, was married to Dr. John David Nesbet, son of Mr. and Mrs.

Clarence Kenyon Nesbet of Lakewood, Ohio, yesterday afternoon at Christ Methodist Church, Manhattan. The Rev. Dr. Ralph W. Sockman performed the ceremony.

A reception followed at the St. Regis Roof. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of ivory satin with an heirloom rosepoint cap and fingertip illusion veil. She carried a bouquet of orchids, amazon lilies and stephanotis. Miss Terry Faulkner, of Richmond, was maid of honor and the attendants were Miss Nancy Delaporte and Miss Katharine Parker of Brooklyn, and Miss Lucia Pierce of Portland, Maine.

All wore green grosgrain gowns with emerald satin sashes. They carried crescent-shaped bouquets of dark red and pink roses and wore wreaths of ivy and garnet roses. Clarence Kenyon Nesbet, father of the bridegroom, was best man, and the ushers included Gilbert Haven Thirkield Jr. and Robert Leeming Thirkield, brothers of the bride, and Dr. John Farrell of Chevy Chase, Dr.

Edward L. Ferguson of Holyoke, and Dr. Thomas Rafferty of Lynn, Massachusetts. Mrs. Nesbet is a graduate of Berkeley Institute and Vassar College.

She is a granddaughter of the late Bishop and Mrs. Wilbur Patterson Thirkield and the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Lonsdale Leeming. Dr.

Nesbet was graduated from Kenyon College and Harvard Medical School and is a surgical, intern at the New England Medical Center in Boston, Mass. He is a grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Nesbet and William Henry Bowen and the late Mrs. Bowen.

Elizabeth, Convent Station, N. and studied at Sorbonne, University of Paris. Mr. Robinson received his B.A. degree from Olivet College, Michigan, and an M.A.

degree from New York sity. He served with the U. S. Army in the European theater during World War II, and is associated with the National Bureau of Economic Research. in Manhattan.
