Dr. McGlnnls is the editor of Truth, a Catholic magazine, published In Brooklyn under the auspices of the Catholic Truth Society. Dr. McGlnnls stated to the Commissioner ol Education that reports came to. him that the principal of the High School of Binghamton was having formal services in his school, the saying ot prayers, the singing of hymns and an occasional sermon by one of the local pastors, thus taking up a large portion of a period which should be devoted to study.

Dr. McGlnnis asked the Department of Education to investigate the matter, with the result stated, that the principal, who was probably acting under a misunderstanding, should act according to law. Dr. McGinnis is president' of the International Catholic Truth Society. The entertainment, which was In the form of a rulie minstrel, was well attended by the members and friends of the church. The hall was completely filled. The society, as the name Implies, Is made up of members of the church choir, for the benefit of which the minstrel show was given. The makeup of the young actors was the feature of the affair. It was done with remarkable care and precision.

Tho labor bureau of the Brooklyn Boss Bakers Association has, during the month of November, placed 76 bakers assistants and 306 helpers. Miss Anna Jansen, a well-known member of the Wtlliamsburger Saengerhund Ladies Chorus, has announced her engagement to William Klefer, a bass singer in the Williamsburg Saengerhund chorus. Miss Janson Is the daughter of George Janson of 358 Palmetto street, for many years the first vice president of the Williamsburger Saengerhund. The Brooklyn Saengerhund executive committee will meet at Saengerhund Hall tonight. Mr.

The Brooklyn, branch of the German American National Alliance has ordered COO copies of the pamphlet containing tho Cooper Union address of John Brisban Walker against President Wilson and his Administration. Tullar, made an address covering the thirty-one years the church has been used. There have been nine pastors, seven of whom are living. About 600 have been baptized; nearly a thousand have been received on probation, and more than 600 couples have been married; more than $12,000 has been given to missions, home and foreign; more than $112,000 has been raised for current expenses and benevolences. IN GERMAN CIRCLES With a dinner and a ball, the Werder Lodge No. 694, I. O. O. commemorated its twenty-fifth anniversary at Prospect Hall, Prospect avenue, last night.

Nearly every German Odd Fellows lodge of Greater New York was represented, and the affair was thoroughly successful. The exercises were opened by a festival meeting of the lodge, over which E. J. Stratmann presided. He gave an outline of the history of the fraternity and stated that not less than $15,000 In sick and death benefits were paid out to members or their heirs during the last twenty-five years.

At the dinner, a long table was set for the guests of honor, including the master and deputy master of every Odd Fellows lodge in Greater New York. In charge of the arrangements were Ernest F. Stratmann, John Boeschen, William Biederhorn, Fred Herbst and Charles Bischoff Jr. Local German Odd Fellows lodges are co-operating with those of Manhattan and the Bronx in order to make the Christmas concei and the Christmas celebration to be given at the German Odd Fellows Home and Orphanage, Tuckahoe road, Yonkers, December and December 26. re BROOKLYN'-I I.
