A. L. for all-round athletics have been captured by Manhattan and Bronx schools. Next year Brooklyn and Queens schools ought to pet them. One is a trophy for all-round athletics conducted by volunteer teachers, awarded to that school having the greatest proportion of eirls I of athletic age (3A to 8K).

The second tropny is awarded to the school having an athletic center, the conditions being like those governing the former trophy. To qualify for the trophy the girls must stand high in school work, and must also have participated during the season in swimming, walking, skating, folk dancing, basketball, baseball, relay races, etc. ERASMUS ALUMNI ON SAIL Over 80 Co-ordinates Enjoyed Themselves Hugely. The third annual cruise of the Coordinates of Erasmus Hall High School was held Saturday. The affair was an Immense success from every point of view.

Over eighty Co-ordinates and their friends sailed on the steam yacht Halcyon from Battery Park and returned about 11 p.m. The spirits of the party were enlivened by singing and dancing, accomplished with the aid of the Co-ordinate orchestra. Refreshments were served about 8 p.m. Mr. and Mrs.

Donald C. MacLean acted in the capacity of chaperons. The committee in charge of the affair consisted of Walter E. Kirch, chairman; All A. Hassan.

Frank Mark, superintendent of the Heffley Institute, Mrs. Mark and Miss Mabel Helen Hefflley, who have been on a trip to California and the Panama Exposition, are returning through Yellowstone Park and will spend a few days in Chicago. They expect to reach Brooklyn on July 1. Miss Grace Wallace, secretary to Mr. Mark, leaves for her vacation on July 1.

She will spend the month in Washington and Atlantic City. Miss Henrietta Fries of the typewriting department; Frank Hubs of the bookkeeping department; Miss Alice Morton of the stenography department and Arthur Myers of the Regents' department, are also among those who will take their vacations beginning July 1. Miss Clementine Zartman has been engaged as assistant in the business office during the summer months. IRVING-SCOTT IVY. Dr.

D. Bryson Delavan of Manhattan has presented to the Washington Irving High School an ivy plant which he has been raising from a sprig obtained from the Washington Irving ivy at Sunnyslde. This ivy was given by Sir Walter Scott from a piece of his own at Abbotsford. Sir Walter had previously obtained his from Melrose Abbey. The plant is in excellent condition and Is to be cared for in the greenhouse of the school.

GARDENERS AT NO. 43 Excellent Work Done in Densely -Populated District. The Garden Association of Public School No. 43, Boerum street, near Manhattan avenue, has made a verv fine record during the past school year, under the direction of James A. O'Donnell, the principal.

There are 2,400 pupils enrolled in the club, and they have registered 200 home gardens in the Botanic Garden Association. Besides planting seeds and flowers they have organized field clubs and made excursions tn th parks. Of the members 134 applied for admission to the course in field work given at the Botanic Gardens. During the year they planted 300 tulip bulbs, 544 packages of seeds, cultivated 1 2S window boxes, 20 yard boxes. 20 roof boxes and two vegetable plots, besides planting two trees.

The Erasmus Spirit, the Erasmus Hall weekly, made its last appearance for the term in the form of a special senior number. It was double its usual size. Class Day was written up in full, and there were many cuts.including one of Dr. Walter B. Gunnison, and members of the graduating class.

There were the usual club notes and jokes, and a good editorial. The Issue contained the class poem, written by Laura Steen-Moller. The staff of the Spirit is as follows: Editor-in-chief, John H.
