Throughout the days telegrams and messages of congratulations arrived at the Denyse home, some from as far away as California, in honor of this man born on a farm in the Bay Ridge section, who has never been away except for one year in the Middle West. From the Bay Ridge Chamber of Commerce and the Bay Ridge Citizens Association came letters of felicitation. The Fort Hamilton Women Voters' League to Study Courts in Visits Eagle Also Will Publish Articles on Procedure and Rights of Citizens The Brooklyn League of Women Voters will inaugurate a series of ten visits to the various Brooklyn courts tomorrow morning when members will go in a body to witness functioning of the municipal term, Magistrate's Court. at 402 Myrtle Ave. The purpose of the visits is to acquaint members with court procedure.

Each visit will be under the direction and supervision of a lawyer-member of the league or some one familiar with the court to be visited, who will explain the organization and jurisdiction of each court. As an aid to members of the who will make these visits, league, acquaint the public in general, The Eagle will begin publishing tomorrow a series of articles on the courts and the legal rights of citizens. The series will be written by Miss Daisy Gaus, lawyer, and member of the league. The league made arrangements for the court visits because of the wide interest in all court matters following the investigation of the Manhattan magistrates tribunals. Mrs.

Annie S. Taft, Publisher's Widow, Dies Unexpectedly Sister-in-Law of Former President Gave Liberally to the Fine Arts Cincinnati, Jan. 31 (A) -Mrs. Annie Sinton Taft, widow of Charles P. 'Taft, publisher of the TimesStar, and sister-in-law of former President William Howard Taft.

died unexpectedly today at her home. She was ill only a few min- utes. Mrs. Taft had been one of the principal owners of the Times-Star. She was the daughter of David Sinton, wealthy real estate owner and capitalist of Cincinnati in the city's pioneer days.

About a year ago Mr. and Mrs. Taft gave the city a gift equivalent to $14,000,000. The gift consisted of the Taft home and its art collection. The home is operated as part of the Fine Arts Institute, open to the public.

Mrs. Taft had contributed heavily to the arts and to the University of Cincinnati. Her donations usually were anonymous. On the basis of realty holdings her wealth is estimated at between $50,000.000 and $80,000.000. Freilich, interne dismissed ten days ago after it was alleged he "shook down" two patients under threat of refusing to take them to an institution, one of the complainants left a sick-bed and took up the matter with the District Attorney. The man, Joseph Wawezkowski of 232 Ralph told The Eagle he called an ambulance on Jan. 17. He was suffering from a nervous disorder, Wawezkowski said, and Dr.

Freilich, who responded to the call, statred with him for Kings County Hospital. Bushwick Hospital, of whose staff the doctor was a member, is one of the institutions which rents use of its ambulance service to the city. On the way to the hospital, according to Wawezkowski, Dr. Fretlich said: "You've got to pay me $10 for the ride."
