Mrs. McMillen, who has supervised the lives of hundreds of blind children at the local institution during the last 20 years, has been eminently successful in her work. Her theories on matters of health she has seen work out with marked success; vegetable diet, long hours of rest and treatments of sunshine and sun lamp rays. She has seen the home "graduates" leave the Dyker Home equipped to earn their own living, and on Christmas Day nine young men and women who were reared at the Dyker Heights Home returned for a reunion and a visit with their friend, Mrs. McMillen.

All Self-Supportinc Among the nine are an electrician, a church organist, a social service worker, music teacher, physiotherapist and a hospital orderly. All are' self-supporting. The three children who were taken from the New Jersey institution are charges of New York State, and, according to Mrs. McMillen, there was no reason why they should be committed to the Arthur Sunshine Home when there are facilities here to care for them. In addition to the Dyker HeiRhts Home there is another institution In New York specializing in the care blind children, the Jewish Home for Blind Babies in Yonkers.
