announce the engagement of their daughter, Miss Catherine Kouwenhoven, to Lawton Mikell Patten, son of Col. and Mrs. Hudson Taylor Patten of Seattle, Wash. Miss Kouwenhoven prepared for college at the Halsted School and was graduated from Vassar last June. Dr.

Kouwenhoven is a nephew Cornelius Kouwenhoven of Brooklyn. Mr. Patten attended the Augusta Military Academy and was graduated from the University of Washington in 1928. He is a member of Alpha Delta Phi fraternity. No date has been set for the wedding.
