Left to Matano as Meg, Shirley Hageman as Amy, Ena Mitchell as Marmee. On Local Screens By LARRY Flo Kelly, the new producer presents "The Joy Cruise," a comedy revue which is now playhouse. These new shows are devised, and staged by Miss Kelly at the Fox Brooklyn Theater and are exclusive and original productions. The headline artists featured are Eddie and Arline Kennelly, sensational dancers; Edgar Bergan in a comedy novelty called "The Georges Compo, the international pantomimist, with Elise Day, and Bert Frohman, Brooklyn's versatile master of ceremonies, introducing new Broadway favorites and sparkling humor.

The Fox Rhythm Beauties offer new routines. The Fox Melody Music Masters present another of their original overtures. Douglas Fairbanks Jr. in "Success at Any Price" continues as the screen feature. Loew's Alpine "Melody in Spring" brings to the screen for the first time Lanny Ross, the silver- voiced tenor of radio fame, and is at Loew's Alpine Theater today and tomorrow.

For his first picture, Ross, who is now under a long -term contract, has a cast supporting him which includes Charlie Ruggles, Mary Boland, Ann Sothern, George Meeker and Helen Lynd. The story features Ross as a singer. whose great ambition is to get on the radio broadcast of Blodgett's Dog -Biscuit hour. To this end he devotes himself until he meets Blodgett's daughter. Then he listens a bit to certain advice handed his way by the beautiful girl with whom he has fallen in love.

He follows her father to Switzerland where Charlie Ruggles' hobbies get him into more hot water, "As the Earth Turns," companion film to in Spring," deals with the homely events in the every day life of a group farm folks. Jean Muir, Donald Woods. Russell Hardie, Dorothy Peterson, David Landau a and Arthur Hohl are in the cast. Park Despite the fact that Louise FAzenda has never been the star in any important motion picture, she is better known and more popular today than many stars who loomed brighter for awhile and then waned. She has made herself one of the real personalities of Hollywood and has friends scattered all over the four corners of the globe.

Cheerio George Schleenbecker, oasis in which they are making their last heroic stand. To move bevond the fringe of sheltering palms is to meet destruction, swift and terrible. McLaglen plays the part of a tough sailor hangs around the famous Barbary Coast, which was notorious in the days of windjammers and fourmasted schooners. He supported by a newcomer to the screen, Dorothy Dell, who at one time was prominent in musical comedy and drama. The added feature with "Wharf Angel" is "Let's Be Ritzy," with Lew Ayres, Frank McHugh and Patricia Ellis in the lead roles.

In it is told a story of the things which we all do at one time or another, namely, talk in millions on a $30 a week salary. "Let's Be Ritzy" full of comedy situations. Tonight the RKO Prospect also will present another of its "Talent Quest" nights. RK0 Dyker "Wharf Angel" tells the, story of a tender romance between unhappy girl and a hunted man, whose love saves them from perils of the notorious San Francisco underworld. It 18 now at the RKO Dyker, and in cast are Victor McLaglen and Alison Skipworth.

Boris Karloff, Wallace Ford and Reginald Denny are featured with McLaglen, whose role is that of a calvary sergeant whose unit is lost in the Mesopotamian desert. Others in one of the strongest casts assembled in some time are J. M. Kerrigan, Billy Bevan, Alan Hale, Brandon Hurst, Douglas Walton, Sammy Stein, Howard Wilson and Paul Hanson.

Based on "Patrol." the novel by Philip MacDonald, the story is of epic character, taking the audience to the sun-scorched and starlit desert wilds where the troop is cut off by Arabs, to make a memorable stand against unsurmountable odds. The new production has been hailed by the critics as something new and different, an inspired drama glamorous with a picturesque background. On the same program is one of the funniest comedies to be shown hereabouts in many a moon. It is "The Poor Rich" co-starring Edward Everett Horton and Edna May Oliver. Another double feature program will be offered Friday and Saturday, "One is Guilty," with Ralph Bellamy and Shirley Grey, and the other is "Bedside." with Warren Williams and Jean Muir.

Stanley Showing the last times today at the Stanley Theater is a well-balanced double-feature screen procombining comedy with drama. Tracy, supported by Sally Blane, presents the light portion of program in the entertaining cinema, "Advice to the Lovelorn." The co-feature is the dramatic and romantic "Bolero." with George Raft and Carole Lombard sharing top-billing. Playing tomorrow and Friday at Stanley is another double-feature program, comprised of "Broadway Through a Keyhole," with Constance Cummings and Russ Columbo; and "Hell and High Water." with Richard Arlen and Judith Allen.
