Kvery day we read of towns belnR destroyed by bombs dropped from -iliplanes, homes burned and towns and cities ruined. There were terrible stories of the refugees, running from all this disaster with no place of safety for them to hide In, and many children were found hiding in the ruins of what fliad one time been a church or a home. Here in America we did not hear the cannonading and the whistling of machine guns bullets, but we had to sec our boys leave peaceful homes in all parts of America and sail under cover of darkness for the battlefields, some of them never to return. With all this terror going on In he world, perhaps you can imagine how joyful everyone was, when word went round the world that an armistice had been called, and that for the time being all war must cease.
