Ninon Vallin did not make her debut her years ago instead off waiting until the present season to do so. She must at one time have nad a really lovely voire, for in her recital at the Town Hall lat evening she occasionally produced, singing mezza voce, tones of unclouded purity and peculiarly penetrating sweetness echoes, as they impressed one listener, of what all her tones must once have been.

For the rest, though, it was necessary to make allowances. Fortunately. Mme. Vallin exhibited qualities as a singer which made it easy to do so. What, vocal resourres she does possess she dispensed with the greatest skill.
