This morning a high of wide area and considerable strength Is central, 0 32 a. Winnipeg, Province of Mnnltoba, and 30.20 at Blklna. West Virginia. It rovers generally the intervening areas, and its influence extends to the West Gulf Coast. Pressure is relatively low over the East Oulf of Mexico, 29.80 at Key West.

Rains have occurred along the Gulf and South Atlantic Coasts from North Carolina Mexico. Some are heavy, 1 62 at Hal-teras, 1.24 at Jacksonville and 2 34 at Brownsville. Showers also occurred in Ar-kansaa, Missouri and portiona of Iowa. Kansas, Nebraska and South Dakota heavv at Kansaa Citv, 1.72. Also showers In the plateau region.

The temperature tendency Is generally to cooler except in northeastern and northwestern sections. Low and High Pressure Areas Cool Northwest And Head for New York What today's weather map shows, as explained by James H. Scarr, chief meteorologist of the New York Weather Bureau: "There is low pressure over Quebec, running up ovr the Hudson Bay. The high pressure area extends from Saskatchewan to the Texas coast It has as yet produced no cooler weather except in the Northwest. It has reached Duluth, and the Lake Superior region. The men were captured yesterday in front of the Davis drug store at 701 Kinffs Htdhwav after a battle with three plainclothes men and number of uniformed policemen. The plainclothes men, Harry Btorn, Bernard Leven and Vincent attached to Detective Mac-Donald's staff, saw Stein and Ginsberg acting suspiciously in front of the drug store.

They accosted Stein, who turned upon BJorn with a blackjack. During the struggle several shots were fired and the noise attracted other policemen, who assisted in capturing the men. While BJnrrt knocked out Stein, the other detectives chased Ginsberg into a nearby apartment house and into the courtyard beyond. He was caught he dived out of a first floor window into the court yard. An ambulance was summoned from Coney Island Hospital and Dr.

UNION CHIEF SHOT AT DINNER; HONOR GUEST AND 2 HELD Stevedore Leader Met With Hail of Bullets on Arrival at Affair at Coney Island. A free-for-all that culminated In the shooting of a man, the arrest of three man and the breaking up of a testimonial dinner took place last night in an Italian restaurant at 2776 Stillwell Coney Island.

The arrested men, who will be arraigned today in Coney Island Court on charges of felonious assault and violation of the Sullivan Law, are oepr Pallonettl, guest of honor at the dinner; Zack Caiitalo, and Genaro De Rosa of 259 4th ave. Although, the cause of the fight was still a mystery, deepened by tre conflicting stories of some of the spectators, police were inclined to believe a disagreement over the proceeds from the dinner was responsible for the affray. Pallonettl, the guest of honor. Is superintendent of the Stevedores' union, with offices at 455 loth ave. The dinner had lust begun, with some 80 diners present, when John Avitable of 63 union accom panied by his wife, entered.

His presence evidently was the sign for hostilities, and a rignt DroKe out. Six shots were fired, and when po lice had finally quelled the rioters. Ivitable was found with a gunshot wound and a possible fracture of the skull. FIVE DEAF MUTES HELD FOR ATTACK Five deaf and dumb young men were arrested early today by police of the Vanderveer Park station on charges of assaulting a 15-year-old girl, also deaf and dumb, after neighbors had called polioe to a bungalow on Barren Island, off Flatbush ave. The girl, attractive, with blacic bobbed hair and large brown eyes, was found scantily clad, her face and body bruised.

She told police that on Saturday afternoon John Peterson, 18, Invited her to his 3-room bungalow. She said she was kept a prisoner there until rescued at 1:45 o'clock this morning. The four other youths found In the bungalow described themselves as Pasquale Patisico, 3. of 22 Whitwell Ralph Ron esse, 20, of 1008 5th North Bergen; Robert Hameli 19, of 222 Fulton ave. Jersey City, and Michael Sicerlto, 19, of 9902 Kingsiand uorona, L.

I. The five youths were held in $2,000 bail each for a hearing Wednesday when arraigned before Magistrate Uota in Flatbush Court. An additional charge of grand larceny was made against Patisico, who is alleged to have stolen the girl's watch, and bail was fixed at $1,000 on this charge.
