Sir Gilbert Parker Dies After Heart Attack in London "The Right of Way' and "Seats of the Mighty' Two of His Best Novels London, Sept. 7 (P)--Sir Gilbert Parker, 69, noted British novelist and for ten years a member of the motion picture writers' colony in Los Angeles, died here last night of heart attack.

For more than 30 years his name figured from time to time among the best sellers and in the United States he was best known, perhaps, for his novel, "The Right of Way." His first literary sensation was "The Seats of the Mighty" which sold more than 100,000 copies in 1896. He was born in Camden East, Ont. Looked Far Ahead Two years ago, he was still enthusiastic over plans for continued writing, of which he could visualize no end. He had a year's work on his memoirs, he said, and other plots in his head. He made frequent visits to Ontario, and some years ago purchased a home in Belleville, where his parents and sister resided.

Camden East is a few miles north of Napanee, where received his early education. He taught school at Holloway, and afterward taught in the school for the deaf. After his ordination to holy orders, he was curate at Trenton, Ont. Later he attended Trinity College at Toronto and paid his way by elocution instruction. Sir Gilbert's wife, who died in 1925, is buried in Belleville.
