M. the Bay Parkway Board of Trade, through its president. Herman P. Gould, last night appointed a committee to join with a similar committee of the Benson Park Civic Association in a request to the Transit Commission for this service. This action was taken at a meeting held at the Young Israel Hall.

Bay pkvay. and 66th st. The two committees will make this request to the Commission as soon as a hearing is granted. "This action Is absolutely necessary as a safety precaution for the traveling public and to relieve congestion on the trains from Bay pkway. to 59th Gould said.

He pointed out that about 25.000 persons use the trains dally at this station and that this number will be steadily increased with the completion of apartment house building activities in the Immediate neighborhood. "An express stop would be of great benefit to the merchants In helping to create a larger shopping district here." he added. The committee, which Is headed bv Gould, Includes Joseph BerllD. Strahs. Charles Davis.

Michael Brown, Herman Cohen, Harold Has-snl and the Misses Hannah Mackler, Henrietta Simmons and Miriam Harrison. Mr. Oould presided at the meeting. BEHAVIOR AND CONDUCT DIFFER, SAYS SPAULDINC Behavior and conduct are not the same thing, Dr. E.

O. Spaulding declared last night In a lecture before a Brooklyn Institute audience at the Academy of Music. His topic was "Is Conduct Different From Behavior?" Behavior depends upon the pa'st and present, the speaker pointed out, while conduct is what distinguishes man from animals the ability to shape his future and free himself from the stimuli of past and present. There is no such thing as absolute chance, Dr. Spaulding maintained, for ever-thing is the result of some definite cause.

Consequently, he added, there is no evidence of freedom in the philosophical sense. Freedom he defined as the exemption from external determination and the ability to act in accordance with Internal determination. Freedom and law are compatible, he insisted, and the universe Is not a chaotic universe of chance but one subject to certain fundamental laws. BILL BROWN POST. A.

GIVES FLAG TO RED CROSS The Bill Brown Post of the American Legion, Sheepshead Bay, presented an American flag to the Brooklyn Naval Hospital last night at the recreation hall of the institution. LIKED ROGERS' STORY Editor Brooklyn Daily Eagle: Wilbur Rogers' covering of the Floyd Bennett funeral story pub lished in yesterday's Eagle was the best piece of news-anting I have ever read. His graphic description of detail expressed so humanly and with an Intelligent conception 01 uie puo-lic's desire to visualize the happenings of the event even better than If they were present is a worthy achievement of uncommon attainment in reporting news.

The speed in composition necessary in newswriting makes Rogers' story more praiseworthy than the studied attempt of any gifted fiction writer, in the humble opinion of this writer. J- P. Brooklyn, April 28. 1928. HOTELS AND RESORTS LOXG ISLAND.
