RELYEA BANNWART Garden Clubs Civic work is considered most important activity of the Belle the Terre Garden Club, although they have taken an active part in flower shows of neighboring clubs and also had exhibit in one of classes in "the flower show of the New York State Federated Garden Clubs in the Spring. The club has placed seven signs in the village of Belle Terre attention to the New York law protecting wild flowers and shrubs.

A conservation meeting began the season's activities of club this year, and this month the Long Bird Club will be entertained, by the Belle Terre group. Mrs. Ralph P. Hinchman is the president of this progressive group of women. Athena Garden Club Special to The Eagle Freeport, L.

July 9-Mrs. Charles Whitlock entertained recently at her home on Roosevelt Place for members of the committee of the garden department of the Athena Club, who are taking care of the department's participation in the annual Freeport flower show in September. Mrs. Whitlock is secretary of the Freeport Dahlia and Flower Society and also chairman of the annual show. Her gardens are widely noted.

Rufus L. Patterson. At a meeting of the executive committee held this week at Sound-O-Sea, Mrs. Tillman Martin's home, it was decided to hold a competition of informal arrangements of garden flowers at the next gathering. Contestants will use vases of similar design and the same variety flowers.

Baldwin Garden Club Special to The Eagle Baldwin, L. July 9-The Baldwin Garden Club, will celebrate its first birthday anniversary Monday evening at the meeting at the North Baldwin Democratic Club headquarters, Grand at 8:30. Mrs. Ida White Parker, executive director of the National Plant, Fruit and Flower Guild, will be the guest of honor, and will speak. The local club is affiliated with this organization.

Whitehouse At Mystic, Yesterday SHIRLEY The marriage of Miss Carolyn Beebe, daughter of Mrs. S. Edwin Beebe and the late Mr. Beebe, to Dr. Henry Howard Whitehouse took place yesterday afternoon in the family home at Mystic, Conn.

The Rev. Dr. James Romeyan Danforth of New London performed the ceremony. Miss Beebe, who was given in marriage by her mother, is a descendant of Elder Brewster and of John and Priscilla Alden. Her sister, Miss Helen T.

Beebe, was maid of honor and Mrs. Eugene C. Worden was matron of honor. Irving P. Whitehouse was best man for his father.

The bride is the founder, pianist and president of the New York Chamber Music Society and has given recitals on several occasions in Brooklyn. Dr. Whitehouse is a graduate of Yale and obtained his medical degree from the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia University. He is a specialist in dermatology. Dr.

Cauchois. Children's Gymkhana to Be Event of Monday in Southampon; Other News of Society at Resort windows. Special to The Eagle Southampton, L. July 9-Summer colonists in this locality who are partial to equestrian activities will attend the children's gymkhana at the Southampton Riding and Hunt Club, tomorrow afternoon. An exhibit of paintings, etchings and sketches is now being held at the Four Fountains studio, which was opened early in the week with a tea.

Colonists; 'Camera Capers' Cast Selected Special to The Eagle Westhampton Beach, July 9 -A Horse Show was held here today in the ring on Potunk Lane and Main adjacent to the Country Club. The show was an all day affair. A lunch was served on the Country Club porch. Mrs. James C.
