Dinner-Dance Given by Little Italy Junior Committee Last Night Proves to Be Merry Party Merriment was the keynote of the George Washington Birthday dinnerdance the junior committee of the Little Italy Neighborhood Association sponsored last evening at the Towers Hotel. "Young folks and old folks" comprised the large assembly that crowded the dance floor around which the tables were arranged.

The patriotic note was carried out in the decorations of the ball room which consisted of red, white and blue streamers around the balcony, and trophy panels and wooden muskets adorning the pillars. The center pieces, which were of red, white and blue crepe paper horns, proved most entertaining to the guests, for the noise they made with them added to the festive spirit and resembled a New Year's Eve party. The horns also served as amusing decorations, for sever al women wore them as bouquets and hair ornaments. The excellent music kept the dance floor crowded at all times and the playing of the Merry Widow waltz took practically everyone to the floor, Following dinner entertainment was provided by two groups of dances done by a chorus of the junior committee members. The young women, enchanting in pink ruffled organdie frocks, with pink and blue poke bonnets and gloves, were a great success and received much applause.

Much amusement was caused by the presenting of a birthday cake to John C. Francis. The credit for the success of the evening goes to the chairman, Miss Louise Goetze, who looked very charming in a turquoise green gown of cut velvet, made on simple lines, with a back, peplin, cap sleeves and long train. Her assistants were Mrs. Arthur J.

Harrison, patroness chairman; Miss Helen Tumbridge, chairman of invitations; the Misses Isabel and Mary Andrew, co-chairmen of music; Mrs. Ronald Hart, decorations, assisted by Mrs. Samuel P.
