BROOKLYN DAILY EAGLE HOME TALK-THE ITEM SECTION, WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 27, 1933 MASS HELD IN NEW EDIFICE Masses were celebrated Sunday for the first time in the new edifice of the Roman Catholic Church of Our Lady Guadalupe, 15th Ave. and 72d built to replace the building razed by fire on New Year's Eve, 1932. No formal exercises marked the transfer of the services of worship to the church from the parish school, where mass had been offered each Sunday since the fire nearly two years: ago. The first mass was celebrated at 6:30 a.m. Another mass was celebrated at 8, and then at 9, 10 and 11 o'clock.

at which the Rev. Frederick J. Hentz officiated, followed by the closing mass at 12:15. The three assistants to Father Hentz-the Rev. Joseph B.

Nichols, the Rev. Richard H. Walsh and the Rev. Charles R. Mulrooney celebrated masses on the opening day.

The altars still remain to be installed in the new edifice, which it is expected will be dedicated some time this Fall, possibly late next month. Much of the money required for the new church church has been raised by various groups during the past year and a half by a series of social events. Siwash Club to Hold Dance on School Roof The Siwash Club is completing plans for a dance to be held on the roof of the school building of Our Lady of Angels School, according to an announcement by the secretary of the club, Frank Healy of 150 Senator St. Frank Connor heads the arrangecommittee, and his assistants mento, Charles Crooks, Thomas Giddings and Norman Robinson. OBITUARIES AGNES WARD, 4, died Saturday in her home, 233 Senator St.

She Was the daughter of John and Catherine McCabe Ward and sister of Catherine. The funeral was held at 2 p.m. from the residence. Interment Was in St. John's Cemetery yesterday.

JOHN M. GREEN died Sunday in his home. 615 3d St. He was born in St. Bridget's Parish, Manhattan, son of the late Michael Green, and had lived in Brooklyn 25 years.

His wife, Josephine; a son, Joseph; three daughters, Mrs. his mother, Elizabeth; a sister, Sister CeMiriam Howley, Eleanor and Elizabeth: cille Carmel of the Sisters of Charity, and two brothers. Joseph F. and George W. Green, survive.

A requiem mass will be offered today at 9:30 a.m. in St. Francis Xavier R. C. Church.

Interment was in Calvary Cemetery. MICHAEL LYNCH of 670 45th St. died Saturday. His wife, Rose; two sons, John and Peter, and two sisters, Mrs. George Best and Mrs.

John Heggarty, survive. The funeral was held today at 9:30 a.m. from the home; thence to St. Agatha's R. C.

Church, where a requiem mass was offered Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery. ELLEN CONLON died Saturday in her residence. 1117. 79th St. She was born in Riverstown, County Sligo, Ireland, and had been a resident of Brooklyn most of her life.

Her husband, John a daughter, Mrs. Jane M. Boland: a brother Thomas J. McDonagh, and four grandchildren survive. The funeral was helc yesterday from the residence, thence to the R.

C. Church of St. Ephrem, where a requiem mass was offered at 10 a.m. J1 terment was in St. John's Cemetery.

BERNARD HAGERTY. a Spanish-Amer: can War veteran, died Thursday in his nome, 34 4th St. He was born in Brooklyn, son of the late Dennis and Rose Hagerty. Three brothers, George, a police sergeant attached to the Fourth Precinct; Michael, a retired fireman, and John, survive. The funeral was held Monday at 10 a.m.

Mary Star of the Sea R. C. Church for many years. His wife, Catherine: two sons, John and Cornelius, and a daughter, Mrs. Felix Hellund, survive.

He was employed as a machinist by the Robins Dry Dock Company. The funeral was held vesterday at 9:30 a.m. from the home. thence to St. John the Evangelist R.

She was born it Brooklyn, daughter of Elmer and Estelle Preiser Brown. Four brothers, Raymond Lawrence, Donald and Elmer also survive. The funeral was held Monday at 2 p.m from the home. Interment was in Evergreens Cemetery. HERMAN LARSEN of 332 59th St World War veteran, died Wednesday the Veterans' Hospital, Sun Mount, N.

Y. after an illness of nine months. He was born in Brooklyn, son of the late Lars and Johanna Larson and is survived by a sister, Mrs. Loretta Larsen Olsen. Funeral services were held in the chapel, 207 Hamilton Monday at 2:30 p.m., the Rev.

George Dowkontt of the South Brooklyn Baptist Church officiating. Interment was in Evergreens Cemetery.
