JUNE 27 Acting Capt. John H. Avers, head of the Bureau of Missing Persons, and Acting Deputy Chief Inspector John J. Noonan. commanding the Recruits Training School of the Police Academy, will retire this week from the Police Department.

Captain Ayers, now in charge of the Investigation Into the disappearance of Agnes Tufverson, will retire Saturday because of the department's age limit. He has been denied a request for an extension until Aug. 31. Inspector Noonan will retire Friday at his own request.
