ATTOKNKY DYKEMAN AND THE BKIDOE LIGHTS. Bridge Attorney Dykeman had a consultation yesterday with President Howell in reference to the proposed screening of the electric lights on tho bridge to Becure safer navigation of tlie 'East River. Mr. Dykeman subsequently called by appointment upon the United States Attorney General in New York, in connection with the same matter. President Howell refused to state what opinion the attorney had rendered on the powers of the Federal authorities to coerce a modification of the lights.

He said lie desired to say nothing that might prejudice a harmonious adjustment of matters from which it may be inferred that Mr. Dykeman has found grounds on which the bridge people might offer opposition if it should, become necessary. VALOROUS BRIDGE POLICEMEN. Titer Beat a Spittle Dog to Death Before Its Speechless Owner. To Tie Editor of the Brooklyn Eagle: In the "Bridge Notes" qf your'paper this even ng mention will probably bo made of the act of two officers who saved the crowd of Bridge patrons from the ravages of a rabid dog at the Brooklyn entrance this morning.

It is doubtful if anything will be said of the two ruffians who attacked a little dog, that was looking for its master, with their clubs and beat it to death before the eyes of the poor man who could not speak enough of our language to tell them tho facts of tho case. The dog showed none of the symptoms of madness, as he ran through tho crowd several times without offering to bite, and had he been let alono would have injured no one. I have been a subscriber to your paper for four years, aud I am sure you will not refuse to givo this space in your paper, as such acts of valor should not go unnoticed. C. Y.
