Florence Plummer Burr, Marshall House, York Harbor, August 6th. Mrs. Burr, the wife of Mr. Walter C. Burr, died suddenly of heart trouble while spending the summer in Maine.

Mr. and Mrs. Burr had been living at the Bossert Hotel for several years; previously to that, they had made their home in Flatbush. Mrs. Burr was the daughter of the late Jerome S.

Plummer an importer of straw hoods. She was a member of the Daughters of the Revolution, and the Prospect Club. Mrs. Burr attended the Plymouth Congregational Church and was a member of the Ladies' Aid Society of that church. Besides Mr.

Burr, surviving her are three sons, Mr. W. Winthrop Burr, American Vice Consul at Patras, Greece; the Messrs. Clinton S. and Jerome Burr, both of Brooklyn; a brother, Mr.

Jerome H. Plummer, and three sisters, Mrs. Charles S. Burr of Brooklyn, Miss A. L.

Plummer of Long Island, and Miss M. G. Plummer of Sea Girt, N. survive her. Funeral serva es were held Friday afternoon, with Dr.

S. Parkes Cadman officiating. JAMES--Mr. Henry East Hampton, August 1st. Mr.

James had lived in East Hampton every summer since 1891, He built his home there in the same year that he was married to Laura Brevoort Sedgwick; their marriage was on September 21st, 1891. Mrs. James died nearly twenty years ago. Mr. James was in his 76th year, being born on April 24th, 1854, at Baltimore, Md.

His winter home was at 735 Park Avenue, Manhattan. He was a retired lawyer, having graduated from Yale in the Class of 1874. During the years of his residence in East Hampton he made many friends among both the summer and permanent residents, being of the group of old East Hampton residents which included many artists and professional men. Surviving him are a son, Mr. Ellery James of Manhattan and East Hampton, and a daughter, Mrs.

Dorothy Havens of Salisbury, Conn. A sister, Mrs. Francis Newton, is a resident of East Hampton. He had two brothers and three other sisters. A funeral service was conducted from his late residence Saturday afternoon, at 2:30 o'clock, by the Rev.

William A. Grainger, rector of St. Luke's Episcopal Church. MURPHY-Mr. Michael, 77 Eighty-second Street, August 6th.

Mr. Murphy was vice-president and one of the organizers of the Bay Ridge Savings Bank of Brooklyn, and founder and president of the Ocean Bathing Suit Company. He remained in active charge of his business until two weeks ago. He was prominent in the development of the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn, where he lived for more than thirty-five years, coming here from Ireland fifty years ago. (Continued on page 14).
