BROOKLYN LIFE. 5 Carscallen, Mr. John 781 Carroll street, April 8. Mr. Carscallen, who was born in Newburg, Canada, was the first and only president of the third National Bank of Jersey City.

He was for three terms speaker of the Lower House of the New Jersey State Legislature and came to Brooklyn to reside twenty years ago. He is survived by his wife, who was a Miss Martha A. Falkinburg; a son, Mr. Charles S. Carscallen, and three daughters, Miss Kate Carscallen, Mrs.

Horace C. Lockwood and Mrs. Audley Clarke. Moffat, 6 East Seventieth street, Manhattan, April Gordon, infant son of Mr. and Mrs.

George Barclay Moffat. Teale, Mrs. Charles New York Hospital, Manhattan, April 7. Mrs. Teale was before her marriage, Miss Lida McChesney.

Williams, Mr. Hugh Elmer, Hahnemann Hospital, Manhattan, April 8. Mr. Williams, who was born in Genesee, Wisconsin, had been bass soloist for eight years at the Lafayette Presbyterian Church and was also well known as a concert singer and teacher. SCHEDULE OF PLAYS.

BROOKLYN LIFE'S PREFERRED LIST. The following attractions at the metropolitan theaters should not be missed. Some of the others would not be missed, but--that is another story: Bijou (Manhattan) (balance of Music play only fair, but distinctly worth while for its fine portraits of the four musicians. Empire (balance of season) Peter a Barrie fairy fantasy, which furnishes unalloyed delight if one allows himself to be child for the nonce. Hippodrome (balance of season)- "A Society Circus." Showy Spectacle with admirable circus features and worth seeing as an altogether unique entertainment.

Madison Square Garden-(until April 23)-The Barnum and Bailey Circus; the best show of the kind ever brought together. Montauk--(next week). admirable example of French drama, admirably acted. SUNDRY EVENTS of the post-graduate class in chemistry, Pratt Institute, '05, held a theater party and reunion last week, Saturday evening. After seeing "The Man on the Box" at the Shubert the party adjourned to the Germania Club for supper.
