BROOKLYN LIFE. Staten Island Society. Queens Borough. Boody-Therrel Wedding The first of the June weddings was that of Miss Edel Catchings Therrel and Mr. Irving Rickerson Boody, which was solemnized on Saturday afternoon, June the third, at St.

Mary's P.E. Church, West New Brighton. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, Mr. Robert S. Therrel, wore a gown of bridal white satin and old lace with a long court train and a veil of tulle caught with orange blossoms.

Miss Gladys Therrel was maid of honor and wore a gown of yellow net and lace with a large leghorn hat edged with brown tulle. She carried a bouquet of yellow roses and daisies. Mrs. A. H.

Platt was matron of honor and the bridesmaids were Mrs. Stanton Therrel of Atlanta, Miss Shelby Paxton, Miss Mildred A. Boody and Miss Abby T. Boody, who all wore gowns of yellow taffeta combined with yellow chiffon and lace and leghorn hats trimmed with daisies and carried yellow roses. Mr.

A. H. Platt was best man and the ushers were Mr. Waddill Catchings, Mr. Edgar W.

Shaw, Mr. Henry A. Rudkin, Mr. James G. McEntyre and Mr.

Carrol D. Newell. A reception followed the ceremony at the home of Mrs. Silas F. Catchings, 84 Davis Avenue, an aunt of the bride.

On their return from a short trip, Mr. and Mrs. Irving Rickerson Boody will make their home at 213 Bement Avenue, West New Brighton. Opening of S. I.

Club. The formal opening of the Staten Island Ladies' Club took place on Friday afternoon, June the second, at the club-house at Livingston. A reception was held during the afternoon for members and their friends, Mrs. Edwin O'Bryan and Mrs. William De Bost receiving the guests, assisted by Mrs.

W. Sauce Allune, Miss M. Adelaide Irving, Mrs. Kingsley Twining, Mrs. Oliver Johnson, Miss Gladys King, Miss Alice Garrett.

Mrs. Henry Treat Boody and Miss Laura Johnson presided over the tea-table. The event of the afternoon was a round robin ladies' doubles tennis tournament, which was won by Mrs. Kennedy Randall and Miss Ruth Townsend, Miss Eleanor Kerr and Miss Laura Williams coming in second. The engagement of John Bradley Kingsley, son of Dr. and Mrs. Charles R. Kingsley of Port Richmond, and Miss Helen Tefft, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs.

Burton C. Tefft of 468 Riverside Drive, has recently been announced. Mr. Kingsley was graduated from the New York University, class of '14, and is a civil engineer. He is a member of Zeta Psi fraternity.

Richmond County Club Opening Decoration Day celebrated the formal opening of the Richmond County Country Club at the club-house on Dongan Hills, which was a very gala affair. There was music throughout the afternoon and a very interesting mixed doubles putting competition took place, which resulted in a tie between Mr. and Mrs. W. Carroll Van Clief and Mr.

and Mrs. Kingsley Twining, both having a score of twenty-five for twelve holes. On playing it off, Mr. and Mrs. Twining won and were awarded pretty little silver clocks as trophies, which had been presented by Mr.

Mrs. T. F. Archer, of Jamaica entertained a party of twenty-five at luncheon in Holliswood Hall Thursday of last week. Orchids and lilies-of-the-valley were the table decorations.

Noah H. Slee of 470 Park Avenue, Manhattan and Hiddenbrooke, Beacon-on-Hudson, have announced the engagement of their daughter, Miss Elizabeth Lewis Slee, to Mr. Walter Irving Willis of Flushing, L.I., son of Major and Mrs. Josiah Wyatt Willis of Buffalo, N.Y. Mr.

Willis is secretary of the Chamber of Commerce of the Borough of Queens and was graduated from the engineering college of the University of Michigan in 1907. The engagement was announced on Saturday of last week at a reception given by Mr. and Mrs. Slee at their country home, MISS ELIZABETH LEWIS SLEE. Mrs.

L. Bradford Prince Entertains N. M. Delegates. Mrs.

L. Bradford Prince entertained the New Mexico delegates to the Biennial Convention of the Women's Federated Clubs last Sunday at dinner at her home in Flushing. Covers were laid for twenty-five and at the conclusion of the repast complimentary speeches were made. Mrs. Aspen of Santa Fe, in a few well-chosen remarks, recalled the many hospitalities of Governor and Mrs.

Prince during the time they occupied the Executive Mansion at Santa Fe and during Mr. Prince's incumbency on the bench of the Supreme Court. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Cassidy also spoke eulogistically of the hostess and declared there were many people in New Mexico anxiously awaiting their return.

Mrs. and Rev. Leonidas W. Smith also spoke and Mrs. Prince suitably acknowledged the compliments paid her.

Jamaica Country Club. The Jamaica Country Club has been formally organized and has elected the following officers for the ensuing year: president, Judge Burt Jay Humphrey; vice-president, Charles A. Hirschfelder; secretary, R. B. Duyckinck, and treasurer, George S.

Downing. The club has 105 charter members and is planning to lease seventy-five acres of land north of Jamaica, and an old farm house which will be remodeled for a club-house..
