In 1905 he went to the South Church. where he served AS associate pastor until 1908 and A.S pastor from that year until 1910.

His next pastorate was at Hillside Church in Orange, N. where he remained for 12 years. In 1922 he was appointed headSchool. Pottstown. and in 1928 master trustee, of the Hill and, became headmaster Par Mercersburg.

He retired in 1941. He was a member of the National Headmasters Association and a former president of the Association of Schools. Colleges and Seminaries of the Reformed Church in the United States. Surviving are his widow. Mrs.

Frances Edwards, and a daughter. Mrs. Beatrice Rutledge. Mrs. C.

W. Soldier's Wife, 21 Services for Mrs. Bernice Johnson Schmitz of 1107 Dorchester Road. who died Thursday in the Methodist Hospital after a brief illness, will be held at 3:30 p.m. tomorrow in the -Tompkins Congregational Church, E.

18th St. and Dorchester Road. She was the wife of Pvt. Clifford W. Schmitz of the Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Maryland, to whom she was married last Jan.

1 at the Flatbush -Tompkins Church. Born borough 21 years ago the daughter of Charles D. and Jennie A. Johnson. Mrs.

Schmitz was a graduate of Erasmus Hall High School and was employed by the American Telephone Telegraph Company at 195 Broadway. She had long been active in the work of the Flatbush -Tompkins Church and was a member of its Red Cross unit. Besides her husband and parents, she is survived by two sisters. Eleanor and Jane K. Johnson.

and a brother, Ensign D. H. Johnson of the navy. Burial will take place Monday in Green- Wood Cemetery. Mrs.
